I'm moving sites!

So, everyone has been wondering why I haven't posted as normal. Well, I have been experimenting with a new application called iWeb from the iLife suite from Apple. I really love the creativity it allows me and have decided to go in that direction. I haven't unveiled the address yet because I was hoping to have my own domain setup however I'm having difficulty with that. Please bear with me as I figure out how to work the darn thing! LOL! Here is the temporary address where I will be posting my blog, photo albums, and a video page. This way everything will be contained in one website. I will still have my Picassa albums where I will be storing my photos, but you can view them also in my new website. I will let everyone know when I have figured out how to work my domain. For future reference it will be www.katverse.com. Till then please go to the following website to view my new re-vamped location and let me know how you like it!

http://web.me.com/khaberlack5

I look forward to hearing feedback on the new site. Since you missed a week of blogness, you will be delighted to see that last week's entry is in there already along with this week's blog on Halloween as well as halloween pictures and all the pictures from October. Please enjoy and one more thing to say....

CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!!!!!

Update will be tomorrow :)

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Hello all...Quick note.

Just dropped the In-laws at the airport today so I will have more time to work on the blog and pictures tomorrow. Sorry for the delay....had to be a good hostess. :)

Thanks and check in tomorrow (Thursday) for the update!

Good night to all!
Kat

Wow I can sorta hold my head and find my hands!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Well...so much has happened in one week...ok..maybe in a few days since I posted stuff over the weekend!

Kaitlyn is having fun discovering her hands! She loves twiddling them and sticking them in her mouth and drooling on them, it's really quite cute. Then she will stare at them for a while. She's like mommy....amused by simple things.

It really is sweet seeing a baby discover these things and so amazing how they are so amazed by it all. Such innocence! Imagine if they had more than two arms! The possibilities are endless I tell you! Anyway, during last nights fussy time, she had a nice peaceful few moments where she was playing with daddy. She played and talked and was having a grand old time. We cherish those happy moments which unfortunatley are followed by the fussy time. Ha ha ha! I feel for her, she had a rough day with going to the docky and everything. Then she got dragged around the craft store...such a horrid life! :)

Before the evening set in though, Kaitlyn and I had a lovely time outside. Well, I had a lovely time, she slept most of the time and nursed while I read and got bit by mosquitoes on my face. It was gorgeous out though. Hopefully it will get a tad cooler so the mosquitoes will go away! I have seen her improve her neck stability so I decided to try the little Bumbo Chair I got at a consignment store (it even came with a little tray!). She's getting better and I thought I'd share some pictures with you. She get's so excited when she sits!

So tomorrow Kaitlyn will meet Grandpappy Haberlack and Grandmammy Diane! Can't wait for them to see her! It will be very exciting! They aren't picture people (like Skip) but I will try to snap some for everyone to see! Word is that we are going to New Orleans this weekend since Diane has never been. Hopefully I can have my beignets at Cafe Du Mond. Thats all I want!

Well..that is all for today..got lots on the agenda! See you all soon and don't forget to subscribe to my post and become my follower..then you will get updates automatically when I update!

Have a fun week everyone!

Matt's Farm and Orchard Harvest

Saturday, October 18, 2008

What a nice time we had with my Peaceful Beginings Mom group today. We ventured up to Tombal at Matt Farm and Orchard Harvest Festival. It was very peaceful up there and although the sun was hiding behind the clouds, many of us thought it was the perfect fall weather! There they had a nice little play area with swings, slides, a campfire, tetherball, volleyball, they had persimon trees, tangerines and pumpkins. We got to pick our little pumpkins from the little bale of hay in the entrance and as you can see from the picture above, we took the ones we sat next to. While we were at this farm, we also got to take a scenic hayride toure of the property. Nestled between pines and lily pad ponds was a nice little farm with different trees for fruit picking. There were also little hidden surprises like a bale of hay shaped like a caterpilar and "Boot Hill". Very cute! We were a nice group that went and I even got to take Skip along kicking and screaming. LOL! He bonded with Amy's husband Craig so it was nice to see him with other dads.

Since it was our first time there, we know for next time to bring hotdogs for roasting and some smores to cook over the open fire they had. Hopefully next year Kaitlyn will actually be able to enjoy the farm and run around and play with the pumpkins. I bet she will love the hayride more too although she seemed quite content with the bumpy ride. Here are a few pictures of the day we had there. You can see all the pictures in my Picassa album.

So much to say....so little time to blog!

Friday, October 17, 2008

He he he...

Hello everyone! So, as you know I have been having a hard time with my uploading of new pics for this week. But I do have some nice stories to share...so you can all enjoy those! This week has been just a whirlwind! I will start with some events that happened last week since the last blog.

I went to my first Organic Co-op on Wednesday and met with some of my mom friends from Peaceful Beginings. Here they supplied fresh fruits and veggies from organic growers. You would purchase shares and then pick them up the following week. They had the most beautiful Eggplants you would not believe! Here is their website: Southeast Organic Co-op. So this week I was able to pick up my small share of mixed items (fruit and veggies) and my share of fruit. This is what I got in the end:A very nice little spread I think. I was so excited that I right away got to cooking. I got in that little bunch some green onions, acorn squash, apples, pears, nectarines, juicing oranges, sweet potato, avocado, cherry tomatoes, grapes, and romaine lettuce. I wanted some soup so I used the acorn squash and added potatoes and carrots to the mix and made a spectacular creamy soup to die for. So yummy and comforting! I also made some delicious juice...soooo goood! Anyway, can't wait to see what they have next week!

This week I also was able to enjoy the joys of my Level One Aromatherapy Certification! Woo hoo! It was taught by my friend's mom Meg at her place where she runs her business. It's called Gritman (Here is the website: Gritman Essential Oils). Because I will be working with Aromatherapy and essential oils they suggested I take this class with them. Of course it was simply wonderful and I learned soooo much! It's amazing just how complex essential oils are and just HOW MUCH they can do and benefit your every day lifestyle. Just think how good you feel when you smell lavender...or peppermint...Well not only does it involve your sense of smell but can also affect you in all of your senses not to mention their healing qualities for both physical and mental ailments! It's just incredible! I'm really excited to start working with Amy. More details to come in the future about that. I'm still working on a name and logo for my part of the business so you will all have to wait to see what comes of that! LOL!

Over the weekend was Tatiana's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TATI! LOL! Alex and some friends and I planned a surprise party for her at Texas Roadhouse on Saturday. While I was supposed to go, I got stuck in some nasty nasty traffic that made Kat get road rage and loose her temper and go back home. I did hear that she had a lot of fun and was super excited which made me feel so better yet still sad that I couldn't be there. :( Sad Kat. Meow...whimper whimper. Now she is in the 30s club. Hee, hee! We will rule the world!

I was calmed down during the weekend though since we got to hang out with our friends too. On Saturday night my temper tantrum was subsided by Theresas wonderful cooking and game playing! We got together with another very nice Coast Guard family with all our kiddies. We played this awesome board game Cranium. My goodness that was a lot of fun. So fun that we immediatley set another date to meet again. So...this Sunday I am going to be hosting the next game night. Finally we found some friends to play board games with! I'm telling you, it's not as fun with just two people! Ha, ha! On Sunday we also were delighted with great company at Christine and Wedge's house. They had a scrumptious BBQ and I got to meet even more coastie families. Guess you could say it was an Aromatheraputic Coastie Weekend! By Monday morning though...I was so tuckerd out from everything that I was a bit sick with allergies or something. But I recovered well. (Thanks to some mighty fine Eucalyptus oil!). And there is Christine and Kaitlyn (and Connor's hands doing bunny ears, he he...)

Going back to Kat's working situation...aside from doing the whole Aromatherapy thing I'm also looking to sell things that I make homemade that relate to natural living and what not. I've been looking online and with my friends and some of them sell hommemade products like breast pads, femenine cloth products, cloth diapers, and other eco friendly handmade products. So I dabbled in this and started taking sewing lessons from a friend in our Peaceful Beginings group. She is teaching us how to sew! I know a little bit already but in the first class we had yesterday I learned so much! Next week we are doing a field trip to the fabric store. At any rate Here are two samples of what I've made..(Guys don't be all immature about what I've sewn OK? Yes..they are feminine products...deal with it! Ha, ha ha!)

Anyway, I'm proud of my little wonky products. Here you see a set of Breast Pads for nursing mommies and next to that are three examples of cloth pantyliners. I can say taht they are friggin comfortable and just so very cute! Much nicer than some stupid plastic "cotton" imitating thing that clog up our landfills. But I digress.......;)

Kaitlyn also enjoyed a very fun first! Her very first official PLAYDATE!! Got together with Amy and Ava, Kim and Ethan and Kim's cousin-in-law and her daughter Jordan. Here are some pictures. It was so nice. Yes, Kaitlyn was asleep for most of it, but during the time she was up, I think she was happy to see other babies. Kim made some delicious Banana muffins and Amy brought some very yummy sandwiches! I brought the oh so un-nutritious yet satisfyingly good white chocolate chip cookies. :) You have to balance all that healthy stuff you know! LOL!
In the pictures we have...Ethan and Ava (with Kim watching) in the first photo. Then we have my kid...sleeping as usual....below that is sweet sweet Jordan, and the creme de la creme picture (by yours truly) is little miss Ava!

So there is so much more to say, but I have to go get ready for our excursion today to Matt's Farm and Orchard. Our Peacefull Beginings group (the mommy group) is going to this orchard where there is a little fall festival and hayride reserved for us. Very cool and exciting! Can't wait to take some pictures with little Kaitlyn. Everyone keeps telling me nobody ever sees me with my daughter...well duh...I'm taking the pictures! Ha! Hopefully I can get some Kat face in there too with Kaitlyn. Till next week here is a cute pictures of Kaitlyn to tie you over:

Video of the Week

Hello all...

While I figure out what's wrong with my iPhoto and uploading stuff here is a cute video of Kaitlyn I took the other day. Tomorrow I will try and get everything all nice and done. Till then enjoy this!!

Kaitlyn's 2 Months!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

My baby is now 2 months old as of October 5th!

And she is grooooooowing! I took her to the doctor yesterday to start her shots and checkup. Here are her current stats as they stand:

  • Length: 21.75 inches long (she grew over an inch since August)
  • Weight: 10 lbs 4 oz
  • Head Circumference: 15 inches (she's got a smart noggin!)

She was a very good girl at the doctors office too. There was one nurse she really, really had fun with. She was smiling and cooing. And when our doctor came in to check up on her, I got a nice lap full of pee. It was....GREAT. (note the sarcasm) He, he, he. Of course she wasn't too thrilled about the shot part, but who is. At least I have the comfort of knowing that she won't be getting a zillion shots at once since I'm doing an alternative spaced out schedule. Anyway, I still don't like knowing I'm putting this stuff in my kid.

Over the weekend we had a lot of fun. I took Kaitlyn to the B.I.R.T.H(Bringing Information and Resources to Houston) fair that is held every October which has talks, vendors, domonstrations about pregnancy, birth, parenting, etc. My friend Amy was a speaker and she talked about the benefits of using essential oils during pregnancy and beyond. It was really great! There were also lot's of vendors for things such as Birth Centers, babywearing, cloth diapering, photography, etc. I learned a lot there. Here is a link to the B.I.R.T.H. website if you want to take a look at the organization. It's really a great place for information on parenting and pregnancy in general, you don't have to live in Houston to see the get great information. I went to a few other speakers as well. I was in the "Breastfeeding secrets" talk and "Nutrition" talk. I also got to try different babywearing slings and loved the Mei Tai. I had tried it before but with a doll...it's very different when you have a live baby. Ha, ha! I love my ring sling, but the Mei Tai is great too! Here is a picture of one: (I have no idea who the lady is...I just put that there to show you what it looks like). It's inspired by Chinese carriers worn by women over centuries. It's great! Here are some pictures from the fair:

First we have Amy Laura teaching about essential oils during pregnancy, birth and beyond; then we have her daughter Ava watching on adoringly, followed by Kelly modeling some pregnancy clothes; Asher showing of all his colors; and a little girl modeling a very cute cloth diaper.

In this foto above we see the booth held by Amy and her family for Gritman Essential Oils. Her mom is standing with the pink shirt and Amy of course is nursing sweet Ava. You can see other vendors in the background. It trully was a cool event!

Sunday was really nice too because I returned to my walking group for the first time since the birth and it felt so good! We went walking in the historic area of League City which has really neat older houses mixed with newer ones and beautiful oak trees which many survived the Hurricane. After the walk we were lucky to be able to take a peek at the Oak Tree Festival held in the town square. Little miss Kaitlyn enjoyed the walk in her own little way....asleep in the stroller! After the walk though we hung out at home and here is a cute little video of her in the bath:

She really really likes baths. Luckily she didn't get fussy after the bath like she usually does when I take her out of water. The kid is a mermaid, like I was and will be once the pool is clean again. I just love this picture of her in the bath...don't you think it's sexy yet tasteful? You should see her face when I put her in the water. It's says: "Thank you Mommy for putting me in this delighful warm bubbly water that is so soothing and invigorating!". She is also grateful that I do not put her in the dishwasher after I'm done rinsing her! Hee, hee! Anyway, the kid loves baths...hopefully this trend will continue!

Today I actually got to go see Jackie Griggs (my midwife) for my followup! It was so nice seeing her at the B.I.R.T.H. fair but then to also see her at the Birth Center today. We did the un-fun pap smear and other checkups and drew some blood to see how my iron is doing. Hopefully everything is in tip top shape. We also weighed Kaitlyn there although she had her clothes on she was a little heavier there. Still doing really great Jackie said! I know this won't be the last I see of Jackie and Camelia since I will be attending the Mother group and hopefully catch the LLL meeting that is also held there! Here is a picture of Kaitlyn with Jackie and Camelia. They did such a great job! If I get pregnant again before leaving Texas I will be going back there again! Not only did they deliver my baby but they saved my life too!

Well, that is all for now! Let's see what other adventures we get into by next week! It's going to be a busy week! So far it has proven to be so! I have some neat groups set up this week that I will be attending and then over the weekend I will be visiting Tatiana for her birthday and also attending an Aromatherapy Certification class. By next week I will know soooo much about Aromatherapy! And that is just for Level 1, November I take Level 2! Wish me luck! I'm super excited, but that will have to be another blog! I promised this would get out on Tuesday and by Joe...I have done this before midnight!

Everyone take care and a special shout out this week to Stephanie Shoemake and her family:
Welcome to the world Sadie and Summer Shoemake

Our lives past Ike

Saturday, September 27, 2008

Well...things are slowing down and I can get to the computer again.

Here is a summary of what went down during Ike. (Ha! What went down....sigh...)

THE EVACUATION

So I evacuated with Kaitlyn, Jack, and Mya on the 11th and headed to Tatiana's house in College Station. Total time with breasfeeding breaks, potty breaks, and food it took me 6 hours. Normally it takes 2 hours but I'm telling you, this was GREAT timing compared to the evacuation during Hurricane Rita! (Need I remind you that was 24 friggin hours?) So, yeah 6 hours is nothing! Plus I wasn't stuck in bumper to bumper traffic which was such a nice thing! I spent a lovely time at Tatiana's house as she is a very gracious, generous, and fun host to be with. I even made a few new friends (Hi there Stephanie! YOu better have those kids soon!) She's having twins for those who don't know. And she is Tatiana's neighbor. We spent many days together doing little playdates, goign to garage sales on the weekends, looking at really nice expensive houses for fun, watching the Daily Show and The Colbert Report which are very addicting. We also had lots of fun laughing at the people on the show Wipeout! Drek was sooooo great with Kaitlyn. He would bring her toys and food. Actually when we came back he actually put bread in her mouth to which she was confused about but ended up licking her lips for a few minutes. It was very cute. :)

During this time of course I was a nervous wreck in my head. I was freaked out because of all the crazy pictures of all the destrction Ike did and was worried and convinced there was a tree in my bedroom. My worries were put to rest because I have such awesome friends. My friend Theresa's in-laws came to my house and did a great job taking pictures which put my mind to ease in many many ways! Then another friend of mine came by my house to see if I had electricity (which at the time, I didn't). Unbeknownst to me, Coast Guard people also came by the house and asked the neighbors stuff. Who knew so many people were so awesome? So, I stayed at Tati's house for over a week and came back Sunday (The 21st).

THE COMEBACK:

With my little army in tow (Alex, Tatiana, and Derek) we came back to my place and assessed the damage. It really wans't too too bad but clearly there was a LOT to clean up. Luckily there were many people driving the streets looking for work. A group of gardner/landscapers from Dallas came down and helped me trim my trees since many of them had branches that were hanging by a thread. I was very happy they stopped by. Right now I have the largest pile of tree limbs and debris on the block...it's embarassing! I've been crazyily busy trying to get everything in order and I think now is the first time I've sat down really and relaxed to let you all know my adventures. I'm working on the pictures right now but apparently I had a TON that I hadn't downloaded so it's taking a while.

I also have a new fridge my friend sold me that I have been using while I waited for garbage day to throw things out of the old fridge. Now I have a back up...Yay! So at any rate my fridge is nice and organized now which makes me happy and I can find things. Very exciting.

Now...for more pressing issues. SKIP IS BACK! Yes he has finally returned. He got to come home a few days early (of course not early enough in my opinion) after a long and pointless adventure out at sea. Us spouses and girlfriends all greeted them on Monday when they were bussed to a nearby hotel. (Many of the crew on the boat are pretty much homeless since most of them lived in Galveston) It was great. I felt like an idiot but I was crying when I saw him. And then he held Kaitlyn and I was mush. It's been nice having him back and exciting to see him with Kaitlyn even though he still holds her like she's gonna break. LOL! I'm so over that!

Well...that is all for now. I think I'm going to take a walk with Kaitlyn and Skip. It's a nice day out and not too hot. :)

Hope all is going well for everyone else. I will try to follow up with everyone this week. Sorry bout that, it's been hectic!

Till next time!
Kat

Chapter 5: Skip Haberlack Escapes from Guantanamo Bay!

Monday, September 1, 2008

Everyone has been asking...Where is Skip in all these events? Well...he got two weeks off to spend with us after Kaitlyn was born, but then he had to meet with his boat to continue their patrol. Seems easy enough right? Well, you are greatly mistaken! Fools!

So, the plan was that he was to fly to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and meet the boat the next day. So, he gets up the next morning after arriving and hours pass, but there is no boat! The day passes and still no boat. Nobody knows where they are. So Skip has been calling me and through me I've been sending his boss emails to let them know whats going on. Well this goes on for a few days....and days and days. Of course now everyone is mad because he could be here with us and celebrating my birthday! LOL! Eventually we heard back from his boss saying that they were NOT going to Guantanamo after all....

Long story short, after a few days he was flown to Miami, Florida so he could then later catch a plane to Colombia to meet with them. Mind you this was during the whole Ike forming and pounding the Caribbean time. So of course I was nervous. He did finally catch up with his boat. All was well, except for Skip because apparently his sub did absolutely nothing and Skip had to catch up on work that was not done and things that were done, but done wrong. (Control issue you say?) Hee hee.

You guys know the rest of the story actually. Ike pounded us, then eventually Skip got to come home. :)

Chapter 4: 30 is Flirty

Sunday, August 31, 2008

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Yes, it passed already, but it's still August and today is the last day I have to celebrate! I mean you only turn 30 once!

It was a very nice birthday too. I had a BBQ very nicely prepared by my parents. I was sad that Skip wasn't there to celebrate with me, but when he comes back I'm sure we can figure something out. Anyway, I had some of my friends come and celebrate with me and we had a very nice relaxing time. Some of my friends brought their kids which made me really happy since they got to really enjoy the pool! It was so neat seeing them since it reminded me of when I was that age and gosh...I LOVED swimming and having fun like that! Some of my friends that came I hadn't seen in a really long time so it was a double treat since they got to meet Kaitlyn as well. So very nice!

Anyway, then we got a great show from my friend René's daughter Michelle. She is five years old and has the best imagination! I tell you she is the smartest kid and so very entertaining. It was a special treat since they stayed over and Michelle gave us a second showing of her fun thoughts. She even sang for us! I'm going to steal that kid when René isn't looking. Watch out René! Ha, ha, ha!

So all in all I had a really great day and couldn't ask for anything more. Ok, well probably to have Skip there celebrating with us, but he was stuck in Cuba at that moment. I did make a really cool birthday wish and I think so far it's working out! I'm really excited that my wish is finally coming true! I would tell...but then I don't want to jinx it! I got the best present early though...I got Kaitlyn. I think that was the best present I could ever have asked for! Ok, Ok...I will stop gushing about her...I'm sure you are all tired of my sappyness, but she's just such a great kid!

Well, that was Chapter 4. What could come next you say? Well Chapter 5: Skip Haberlack Escapes from Guantanamo Bay!

Hurricane Shmermicane....right? Hmmm

Well....as sad as it is for the New Orleans folk I'm relieved that it's not coming our way. Thank goodness that we don't have to go and evacuate. That makes me feel a lot better since I don't have Skip here and although it's Mom and me, it would be difficult to have done everything to make sure the house was fine with just the two of us. I'm also very relieved that we don't have to drive away! LOL...I just keep thinking of the time we had to drive to my friend Tatiana's house during before Hurricane Rita. I don't' think it would have been much fun if it was the same commute with a kid, two pets, and a Mom. Ha, ha, ha

So...anyway, I think we will be fine here in Houston. It will most likely be rainy and windy, but nothing like it could have been, thank goodness! And I think that if it were heading to us, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy my friend's baby's Christening today. It was really cool! I will have to put up pictures once I upload them. It was so much better than your traditional christening. It felt so much more real and heartfelt. But this is my opinion. I'm sure traditional works for some people, but I love my friend Amy's approach.

Well...it's time to eat some dinner so I shall go now and hopefully continue the chapters now that this intermission is coming to an end.

Take care everyone! Keep dry!

This is a test....oh wait...no it's real!

Saturday, August 30, 2008

OK...so here is a brief intermission from my chapters to tell you about the latest news.

As many of you may know, the weather has been quite active lately and as we enter the exciting month of September, we also enter the busiest part of hurricane season. This year it is no exception. Looks like we will be getting a nice dose of storms in the next few weeks and although it's still early to tell if this year will be a repeat of a few years ago it sure feels like it. For those of you who don't know, three years ago after hurricane Katrina hit, we (Texas) got slammed with Hurricane Rita. While the storm turned out not to be as bad as it could have been, the true adventure was the 24 hour trip to my friend Tatiana's house. This was known as "The Rita Exodus". Mind you it takes 2 hours to get to her house under normal situations. Take me out to lunch and I will have to tell you about that sweet adventure. :p Let me just say, that I HOPE it's not the same situation again!

So...what does Mother Nature have in store for us this time around? Well, it looks like a double dose of storms starting with Hurricane Gustav (I call it Gus for short) and the still uncertain Tropical Storm Hanna (no relation to Hannah Montana). Our main focus for now is Hurricane Gustav. It has spiraled and danced around the Caribbean and is now looking like it's making a nice beeline trip towards Louisiana. The "Cone of Uncertainty" has the possiblity of it landing between Texas and Florida so we are all on alert. The real pain with this storm is that we've been watching it for so dang long! Ha! When it became an official storm it was moving slower than molasses at 5 mph. Now I guess since it has more steam, it's moving faster like a little locomotive. Choo choo!

If it hits Lousisiana, I really feel bad for them. They are in no position to bear another storm since they aren't even recovered from Katrina. The thing is that someone has to get the brunt of it, and sadly anywhere it hits is going to be a disaster area and like any human in the world, I hope it's not where we are. While there are two active storms in the Caribbean, there are also a few developing in the Atlantic off the coast of the Hurricane Factory (aka Africa). I guess people are going to start paying attention to Al Gore now since he's probably going to say that this crazy weather is due to Global Warming. Makes sense though. The ocean is jacked up and warmer than it used to be. Guess people will rethink using that bottle of water and plastic bag at the supermarket now.

So...for the second time this month we are on watch again. Luckily this time I don't have to worry about having a kid again! Ha! I leave that to any other mother who is due! Have fun with that! What I do know is that the weather is going to be really crappy next week and that I won't be able to go into the pool. :( All storm and no swim make Kat a sad girl. He, he.

Well..that is my news brief for now.

We will now continue with your program which is now in progress.....

Chapter 3: Visitors check in and out of Chateou di Haberlack

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

With a baby you get the normal rush of people pouring in to see the little bundle of joy. This is always quite normal. I got my little rush and it was very nice. Lot's of ohhh's and aaaah's and LOT'S of...wow...she looks like Skip. :)

It did take a while for the people to pour in. Mostly because I was out of service for a while, but I think this gave us all at Chateou di Haberlack some much needed bonding time with our daughter before everyone else came to see her. Among the visitors were the very happy grandparents.

Skip's mom Linith came all the way from Kalifornia just for the occasion. She was delighted to see Kaitlyn and we celebrated by having some chicken wings upon her arrival. This was neat because it was Kaityn's first visit to a restaurant. And because we own stock in it (Buffalo Wild Wings by the way is where we went), then it made it all the more special. :) Nothing like a little American food to set off Kaitlyn's little life, don't you think?

Grandma Lin had lot's to show Kaitlyn too. She gave her a tutorial on how to sell and search for items on E-bay which will come in handy when looking for the right diaper to match her dresses. Hee hee. Grandma Lin also brought me a the most awesome gift for my 30th birthday; one of the rocks she worked on which she shapes into really neat orbs. I have to take a picture of it, but it's really awesome. I've been wanting one of these since i saw her page when she came for the baby shower. She and Mike (her boyfriend) have this really great business where they polish and create gorgeous pieces with rocks you and I would never have thought could be transformed into what they are after they are done with them! If you want to take a look at some of the ones she's done, she has a photostream on Flickr. Here is the link: Linsgemsandjewlery

Lin and Mom weren't the only grandparents though! Dad came too! Of course he was such a proud grandpa! Always in love with his little granddaughters, Kaitlyn was no exception. Kaitlyn learned all about Japanese food with Dad since we went out for lunch when he came. (Yes, there is a theme here with grandparents and going out to eat!) Of course, Kaitlyn didn't pay much attention and decided to sleep through the whole ordeal. But we had some good food which she enjoyed later via Boobjuice. Here are a few neat pictures of Katilyn and Dad:

So as you can see...little K is loved by all! Let's not forget Grandma Becky though! She's been here sice before the birth and been a great help! Here are some Grammy/Kaitlyn pics too!

And what is the next chapter you ask?? It's: 30 is Flirty
